Partnership with ETIC Partners

Ergy and ETIC Partners signed a strategic partnership to offer junior debt solutions for renewable energy assets in Poland. By joining forces, ETIC Partners and Ergy, a leader in the asset management of renewable energy assets in Poland, are working together to support Poland’s ambitions for sustainable energy.

ETIC Partners and Ergy Asset Management signed a strategic partnership to accelerate the deployment of Energy Transition Europe II, a fund managed by ETIC, in Poland. Ergy is a leading independent asset manager and investment platform for renewable energy investors operating in Poland, with extensive local network and subject matter expertise. Ergy manages large-scale solar and wind energy projects in Poland for a total capacity of more than 1,200 MW. Its team of 68 experts provides comprehensive management of renewable energy assets both in the construction and operations phases.

Ergy will support ETIC in originating and analysing junior debt opportunities in Poland, to finance the construction of new renewable energy production capacity, as well as refinance existing projects.

Thanks to innovative junior debt sizing, project owners can free up cash for further project development and growth, while facilitating capitalistic independence at both corporate and project level. It is a powerful tool for project owners to diversify their sources of financing in a context of limited access to traditional financing, filling the gap left by decreasing senior gearing as long-term public tariffs are replaced by complex offtake strategies with merchant exposure.

This collaboration will contribute to Poland’s target of achieving 56% of electricity consumption covered by renewable energy sources by 2030, according to the draft national plan (NECP) submitted to the EU. At the end of November 2024, over 33.2 GW of renewable energy was installed in Poland, of which 20.7 GW (62%) are PV systems. Poland now installs more than 4 GW of solar per year and by 2030, the country plans to have nearly 30 GW of PV operating.

This partnership allows ETIC to enter Poland, one if its key countries, as the market is booming notably since the government’s new ambition of increasing the share of renewable energies in the energy mix.
